A Call to Serve

We loved our mission to the Dominican Republic and early last summer we decided to start the paperwork to go again. I dug right into the paperwork, medical, dental and vaccination updates and by September we were waiting for our call to come in the mail. We thought it might come while we were in Minnesota for Bob's wedding or while I was still away hunting. The calling did not come and we were left to wonder and wait. Your are called to serve in the Suva Fiji Temple

We will be there for 18 months starting in mid February. We will arrive there in time for the Temple re-dedication and the cultural event. We have been trying to organize our home and cars here while we study Fijian. It will be a great experience for us.

1 December 2015 Botanical Gardens Aglow

Cindy, Carrie, Morgan and I had an enchanted, though cold, night at the Idaho Botanical Gardens, all alight for Christmas. Children make the Season even more special.

November 1 -20, 2015 Delaware Sookhoo adventure and Florida sojourn with Meg

We took a trip to Delaware so we could babysit the five Sookhoos while Kate and Steve had a four day trip to Florida. It was really fun, the kids are awesome with the parents out of the room. Only trouble was Zack finding a black marker and using it on the upstairs walls and furniture.

After Delaware we drove to Florida via Myrtle Beach and Jekyll Island areas. We had four days in Clearwater and then drove to Orlando to meet Meg. She was on a work trip for events she had set up. So we had cushy rooms on her nickel. Finally some return on our investments. We went along to Sarasota and Fort Lauderdale with her group.

There is a pretty good playground just up the street.

Oct 3, 2015. Amos Horne Baptism in Washington

We were able to go to Duvall for Amos baptism over General conference weekend in October. The Iverson's were off school and we all flew together. We rented a ten passenger van so everyone rode together.

September 15 -19th, 2015. Rodger goes to Manitoba to hunt.

After the wedding and our stop in Alexandria Cindy and I went our separate ways. She flew home to Idaho and I drove with Dave to Plumas, MB via Winnipeg. Brother Jim and George Colegrave also came in for a few days hunting ducks and geese near the Big Grassy. We had good weather and excellent hunting, as always. Our guide, Gator, has completed a cabin near his house and it is very nice. This is the year we lost a blind off the back of Gator's truck driving back from hunting one evening.

September 8-15th, 2015 Minnesota and Bob's wedding

Brother Bob and Kelly were married in Winona on Sept 12, the Iverson's, Meg, Cindy and I were able to make the trek. Brother David and Lisa also arrived from Colorado. We had a great visit, driving cars, helping to get the homestead partied up and touring Winona a bit. Cindy and I also were able to visit Alexandria for a couple of days to catch up there.
