Fast times on Deerfield

Today a small Cat came to dig out our pond, better for irrigation and swimming, and maybe the fish won't freeze if we keep some water in it. The new Z Magnette is being evaluated and probed.  I am deciding how to approach getting her back on the road, today the engine was shown to have adequate compression and to turn freely.  It has an awesome shiny grill.  There may be too many projects around here but it keeps things interesting.  I need to be occupied after being busy on our mission!

Starting to make a bigger hole.

Our two-cow herd arrived for their summer sojourn.  They have settled in nicely.

The ATV's are booted from the garage,  the old Mercedes has returned in non-running state, and we have Shawn and Anna's Disco while they are in Delaware for the summer at Kate's.  The MGA coupe, trailer and new Magnette wouldn't look so bad without the crowd around.

To Bellevue Washington for family and a new Magnette adventure

As you should know, I do a lot of work on MG sprotscars and I also have a ZB Magnette saloon.  Since we got home in March I have been working on an MGA coupe that I acquired through EBay curiosity.  This weekend we drove to visit Laura and the Horne's in their new location, Bellevue.  They are moving this week to a house in Duvall, WA and we were able to see the new house and do a bit of work there, at least mom helped paint.

The drive to Seattle area on the interstate highways goes very quickly, more interesting so far then a similar length drive to Springville.

Here are some house pictures:

Amos and Cindy in the airplane flying contest. Apartment in
Bellevue.

Audrey and Amos playing in back yard of Duvall house.

Anna, Iva and Wardie playing in the upstairs hallway.

Maggie in horse stable at the Duvall house.

The new Magnette has a beautiful story, a romance, and I will be documenting the restoration process in a separate blog.  The MGA I am working on has no story, is butt ugly, but I am growing to like it, and will start a blog for it too.

Unsettled settling in

We arrived back to Eagle on 13 March, we did have a nice rest stop in Delaware to catch up with the Sookhoos and meet little Luke, our newest grandchild. Being home is great but not as easy as slipping on a pair of comfortable pants.  To suddenly have no need to be anywhere or do anything for the missionaries was a shock.  I have started to sort through cars and parts in the garage and through my house things too. I will be starting new car projects and we are looking forward to some trips this spring and summer.

Some things that struck us was how big the houses are around here, and you can see them because there are no walls everywhere.  Driving is orderly with no horns or taxis/ gwa gwas cutting randomly through traffic. It has been pretty nice but when it is windy and cool we know right away we are home to Idaho.

We have been to Idaho Falls to visit Anna, Shawn and Iva and we had a "one day over, 2nd day back" trip to Bellingham to pick up a MGA coupe project.  The trip was fine but the project may be crazy.

In Delaware, Kate and Leah getting beautiful.

At Eagle Stake center after our release, we miss our placas.

Amos and Levi with Liz at the Boise Zoo.

Carousel at the Zoo, Meg and Audrey.

Morgan and Audrey, enjoying
cousinhood at the zoo.

Easter sheep projects of Morgan and Amos.

Wardie with our welcome home balloon strings.

We had Easter dinner one day early as Anna and Shawn
needed to get home.

We got it home, now a lot of work will begin.
