Idaho Falls and Island Park

We went to Idaho Falls after the New Year to go to a cabin with Shawn and Anna and also to be there for Charlie to get a name and a blessing in Church.  There is a lot of snow at the cabin, it is about 6800 ft altitude, so about 3 feet of powder.  We had to portage in from the nearest plowed road, about 100 yards. We don't travel light with an infant and a toddler.  We also brought our water, food and sleeping bags/mattresses.

Meg and her roommate Brandy came along.  We tried to go in the driveway with the Land Rover Discovery, but got stuck in the deep snow.  Not too hard to dig out.  The cabin warmed quickly and we had a good time.

Parma in the winter isn't like the good old summertime

We took a trip to our Parma ponds so the kids could walk on ice, seems they haven't done that much.

After Christmas fun: Birthdays and Juan Carlos

Liz has her birthday the 26 of December, so we had a gala dinner and some more presents and balloons.

Cheesecake Factory dessert.

Iva, almost 18 months, enjoying the balloons.

Iva loves the outdoors, even when the snow blocks her way.

Juan Carlos Arroyo is an Elder we knew in the Dominican Republic, he came up from Provo for a few days after Christmas.  We had fun with his personality and good humor. He made us mongu (plantains) which was a good reminder of our potlucks with the other senior missionaries.

Christmas 2013

We had a nice holiday with the Catmulls home with us, so we had Carrie, Allison, Morgan and Levi Iverson with Iva and Charles.  Meg was also home from school.  We went to a living crèche and had fun bowling and we saw Frozen at our fancy new theatre.

Allison waits her turn to open.

God has blessed us very much over the years, especially
this last year as we came home from our
mission and were able to be home with friends and family.
