Thoughts on being finished

Our 18 months are done, it is hard to summarize my many thoughts over the last weeks and days. Was I perfect, as in finished, complete...?  No, but we did our best most days and usually that was enough.  As we finished up with zone conference it was great to feel the love of the missionaries, I know they know we tried to do our best and that we love them.

As we left the Casa to ride to the airport the young Sisters in the CCM gathered to sing us a beautiful harmonized God Be With You,  just like in Elder Groberg's movie. We cried with them but it was the best thanks I could have had. We will have some more pictures soon.  Then we will be home to Boise and on to new activities.  God be with you.
CCM Hermanas and Sr. Freestone sang God Be With You for us, I was grateful for the acknowledgement.

Ready for departure, sad but true.

Jonas stopped cleaning to say goodbye.

The Stake welcome home sign was in our yard again.  We staged a photo on a blustery Sunday.

Zone Conferences and some Fun at the Park

We are doing East mission conferences this week, it is nice to have a chance to see everyone again, but sad too.  I will miss the spirit of the missionaries.

Sr Hernandez takes a call in La Romana today.

Yesterday we had to wash the car, it was filthy and covered with bird gifts. The house had water so we seized the time.

Today, after our drive back from La Romana we got some pictures at the temple and took Meg to see the caves in the old zoo park across from the Temple.

Tuesday trails

Yesterday we went to the Centro office for one last time, thankfully. We had a receipt and credit card to drop off.  We were able to say some goodbyes too.  After the office we stopped bu Mirador park to see the place where Elder Ballard dedicated the Dominican for missionary work in Dec 1978.

If you ever want to find the plaque look near here.

Our Weekend

We finished our weekend on Sunday with meetings in San Pedro de Macoris, a very nice building and a strong branch. We had a lazy afternoon and took a few pictures that Meg wanted.  Monday am early we drove back to Santo Domingo for my clinic time.  For lunch we went to the East Mission office for one last barbecue with the Eichbush's and three of the zones. It was a hot day, but great to see everyone mostly healthy and having a good day.

There is one in every bunch.

Our spot by the slide.

Reminder for keeping the chapel clean
Dominoes in the shade, what could be better.

Playa Juan Dolio

After Friday's Zone conference, which went pretty well, we drove to Juan Dolio and our old friend, the Barcelo Capela. We have had a couple of days to relax and Meg is getting some sun.  Tomorrow it is back early to Santo Domingo for Clinic, the last, and then the East Mission Zone conferences through the week.

A complex story is told, Meg liked the attention ratio.

The beach has been very nice, resting up for a return to spring in Idaho next week.

The beach scene we all have pictures in front of, Juan Dolio.

Happy as a clam.

Tommy and the parrots with my girls.

Fan palm in the sun by the pool, pretty nice.
